Privacy Policy
Nardy is a backgammon (short nardy) and long nardy game for iPhone made by Cradle Labs Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app and our game server handle, and why. In short: we only keep what is needed to run the game, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.
What we collect
You don't need an email address, phone number, real name, password or Apple ID to play. When you go online for the first time the app creates a guest account on our server. We store:
- Profile: your username, avatar emoji and colour, an optional country code (only if you choose one), and your board, checker and dice style choices.
- Game records: online games you play — moves, dice, clocks, results — and the ratings and win/loss statistics that follow from them.
- Social features: your friends and friend requests, game challenges, the players you block, and reports you send about other players (the reported player, a reason, and optionally a game and a short note).
- Game Center (optional): if you're signed in to Apple Game Center, the player ID Game Center gives our games, so your account can be restored on another device. Apple confirms the ID; we don't receive your Apple ID, email or Game Center nickname. To suggest friends, the app sends us the player IDs of your Game Center friends (only if you allow the app to see them); we use them once to find matching accounts and don't store them.
- Technical data: like any internet service, our hosting provider processes network data such as IP addresses to deliver traffic and keep the service secure. We don't use it to identify or track you.
Games against the computer and two-player games on one device stay on your device and are not sent to us. Your app settings are stored on your device.
How we use it
Only to provide the game: to create and run online games, match you with opponents, show profiles, ratings and leaderboards, let you find and add friends, and keep the community safe (acting on reports and enforcing blocks).
What we don’t do
- No advertising.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We don't sell or rent your data, or share it with anyone for marketing.
Who can see your information
Nardy is a multiplayer game, so other players can see your username, avatar, country (if set), ratings, statistics and finished games — for example on your profile, in search and on leaderboards. The list of players you block and the reports you send are private and never shown to other players.
Where it is stored
Our game server and database run on infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, in data centres in the European Union or the United States. The provider processes the data only on our behalf, to host the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. When you delete it:
- your profile, ratings, friends and friend requests, blocks, challenges, the reports you sent and the link to your Game Center player are deleted immediately;
- games in progress are resigned (your opponent wins);
- finished games stay in your opponents' history, but your name and avatar are replaced by “deleted” and are no longer linked to an account;
- reports other players made about your account may be kept as moderation records, identified only by an account ID.
Copies may remain in our hosting provider's backups for a short time until they are overwritten.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. You can also email [email protected] with your @username and we'll delete the account for you.
Your rights
You can see and change your profile in the app at any time, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR) you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
Children
Nardy is a board game suitable for all ages and doesn't ask anyone for personal identity information. We don't knowingly collect more than the game data described above from anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and want your child's account removed, delete it in the app or contact us.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date at the top.
